Club History
The Northern Beaches United Football Club has been providing sporting and recreational opportunities to children in the Northern suburbs of Townsville / Thuringowa for over 30 years.
Established in 1975 as the Bohlevale Junior Soccer Club, the club began as a small sporting group, using the Bohlevale State School oval as its training grounds. It then relocated to a field next to the Bohle CSR Readimix Quarry. CSR Readimix was the club’s major sponsor at that time, thus our uniforms were pink, and we were named the Bohlevale (pink) Panthers. In the 1980s, we relocated to Broadmeadows Park in Jensen, which remains our home ground to this day and our club colours were changed to Red, Black and White.
We began as a junior soccer club, catering for children to the age of 15 years only. However, in 2001 we entered a men’s and a women’s team into the Townsville / Thuringowa senior competition. In 2004 our constitution was amended and we became the Bohlevale Soccer Club.
In 2007 our constitution was again amended to reflect the changing demographic of our player base and we became the Northern Beaches United Football Club.
